Kujawsko-Pomorskie Inwestycje Medyczne Sp. z o.o. (KPIM – Kuyavian and Pomeranian Medical Investments) is an investment company run by the local government, operating according to a unique profile: it manages the building and modernising of provincial hospitals in the region. The Company was established in March 2009, by consent of the Local Government of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province, and the founding act was signed by the Province Government, countersigned by the treasure of the Province. Today, the company’s capital amounts to PLN 442 127 000,00.
Thanks to the support of the European Investment Bank, the Company has been implementing Health Service Development Programmes in Kujawsko-Pomorskie, since 2009. The first Programme was implemented in the years 2009-2016, while the second and third programmes were continuations of the first programme, and are still under way.
The primary goals of all the programmes are to increase the accessibility of and improve the quality of medical services, as well as rationalise and reduce the operational costs of the facilities that come under the authority of the provincial self-government, as well as improve the development of the hospital facilities and premises.
The scope of activity set forth in the founding act may include all activities that result in the expanding of the scope of medical services in the province, including consultation in the aspect of running a business and its managing, as well as managing property, although the current activities of the company have been narrowed down to a limited scope of public procurement.
The company is not profit-oriented, and all the incidental income generated from any potential business activity may be allotted for completing of the goals of the Programme.
