The programme was implemented by KPIM within the territory of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province, in cooperation with and to the benefit of the hospitals for which the founding body is the local government, namely:
the Ludwik Rydygier Provincial Polyclinical Hospital in Toruń,
the Tadeusz Browicz Provincial Hospital for Infectious Diseases and Observation in Bydgoszcz,
the Provincial Specialist Hospital in Wloclawek,
the Franciszek Lukaszczyk Oncology Centre in Bydgoszcz,
the Josef Bednarz Specialist Psychiatric Hospital in Swiecie,
the Kuyavian and Pomeranian Pulmonology Centre in Bydgoszcz,
the Josef Brudzinski Provincial Children’s Hospital in Bydgoszcz.
The main and systematically implemented objective of the programme was to adapt the rooms owned by health service institutions (ZOZ) to the requirements of European standards, and improve the quality of rendered health services, as well as to increase access to the public health system.
In 2010, the Company obtained its first loan from the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg, which amounted to 425 million zlotys, with the support of the Local Government of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province. The loan became a foundation to implement the objectives of the programme.
The course of the entire investment was formally supervised, monitored and reported by KPIM, 100% of which is owned by Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province.
Initially, the programme was planned for the years 2009-2012. However, it was later prolonged until the end of 2016, resulting from changing the date for the mandatory adaptation of hospital facilities and rooms. It was completed in 2016.
The entire investment project is now continued in the form of Health Service Development Programmes II and III, which are being implemented in Kujawsko-Pomorskie Province.
