KPIM is a special purpose entity responsible for carrying out medical investments in hospitals for which the founding body is the Local Government of Kujawsko-Pomorskie. The basic procedure of selecting contractors for each individual enterprise is awarding public procurement contracts in the sector of health service.

Thanks to the support of the European Investment Bank and the founding body, the company is capable of implementing medical projects aimed at ensuring a higher level of accessibility of medical services, and improving the quality of such services, in the region. The Programme of Development and Modernisation Investments in Provincial Hospitals in the years 2009-2016 that is being implemented by KPIM also covers procurement procedures regarding medical services, which makes it possible for hospitals, among others, to rationalize the costs of their operation.
